“The winningest Pro driver on the LODBRS circuit, Tony Scarlata took Lucas Oil-sponsored Shazam Top Alcohol Flat team to six victories of the eight races attended in 2011 and qualified at the top of the class at virtually every  event.  At the season opener at Firebird Lake in Chandler, Arizona, Tony logged consistent runs in the 5.30-second range and by the end of the 2011 season, Tony had laid claim to the quickest and fastest passes ever in a Top Alcohol Flat when he legged the ET record with a 5.201-second run at the San Diego Bayfair and then  logged a 166.704 mile per hour pass at the Augusta Southern Nationals. He set a new ET record at 5.231 seconds at Augusta as well, and then raised the bar at the Diamond Drag Boat Nationals in Wheatland, Missouri when he reset the ET record again, this time at 5.226 seconds.

The 44 year old California native has been racing for the past 21 years and joined the TAF ranks eight years ago. He is also an avid circle boat driver, and has competed in the Top Alcohol Hydro, Pro Gas Flat, and Comp Flat classes. He is a 3-time recipient of the Sonny Jones Memorial award, has more than 20 Championship titles to his name, and has set more than 30 records.”
